Great Tension
I've watched a lot of film noir - and the plot - the drama - the scene is pretty much the same formula (perhaps why I watch it). However, the surprising difference here is the heightened experience of tension. It made me keep watching the movie - which frankly - at times was almost unbearable (perhaps b/c the long suffering - abused woman is a thing of the past - maybe). A good woman sticking with a rotten man, when he obviously loathes her, cheats on her with no restraint or discretion - and blames her. The Barney character was absolutely despicable (Louis Hayward) and long suffering wife (Joan Leslie) were well paired actors. The supporting cast was excellent (early Natalie Shafer before Gilligan's Island). The tension in :Repeat Performance" was so real - and made me feel so deeply - I don't think I could bear to watch it again. However, it is a very worthwhile watch! Enjoy. peace.

She was a true beauty.
Joan Leslie was a mesmerizing brunette. Her lovely hair complemented by a luscious set of “soup coolers” and an ample bosom, make her so viewable, even in this slightly grainy reproduction.
